Have a laugh and help a good cause in July

If you’re in London over the next two weeks, you have the chance to see Ed along with many other great comedy names performing for some very worthy causes. Check out the Live Dates page for booking information for a comedy benefit for New Horizons Youth Centre in London, Reprieve’s Humour and Rights show, and coming up next Monday, a show for Kids Company at the Comedy Store.

Interview with Ed in the Telegraph

Just a short interview, but a few nice pictures of things that are important to Ed in his everyday life.

It’s outdoors time!

Easter’s here, time for everyone to get outside and ramble about. To give you a little boost, here’s an interview Ed gave to the Spring edition of Country Walking about why he loves mountains, his Munro bagging, and more:

Ed and Shadwell

Anyone who has seen Ed on his current tour knows that he adopted a cat–Shadwell–a few years ago. You can read more about Ed’s learning curve as a cat owner in his interview with The Cat, the official magazine of Cats Protection. To go with that interview, Cats Protection produced a cartoon of Ed and Shadwell, which we thought you’d like to see.

That image comes from designer Rasoul’s blog, Eat, Sleep, Sniff, where you can also read about how the cartoon came to be.

Ed at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2011

You can now get your tickets online for Crowd Pleaser at the Edinburgh Fringe, Venue 150 @ EICC, August 3rd to 9th. These shows will fill up fast, so be sure to book your tickets early.

Why I’ve fallen out of love with Twitter in general and @TheKeithChegwin in particular

“Ed Byrne has put me and my family through hell by telling lies about me in the press and on radio.”

“Dear me there are some real bullies here on Twitter. I can take rude comments but threats and cyber bullies, No!”

“I suppose I should tweet their names Ed Byrne, Simon Evans, Russell Kane, David Baddiel.”

These are some of the things Keith Chegwin has tweeted about me. The tweet at the top was sent out only last Tuesday. It’s a fairly heavy thing to put out there and a statement I feel I can’t very well leave unanswered.

Happy Christmas everyone

Ed gave this short interview to New Humanist after one of the recent Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People shows. In it, he talks about his inherent nerdiness, his plans for the new year, and impending parenthood.

Ed is also appearing at the Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People shows on Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd of December at the Bloomsbury Theatre, London. There are a tiny few tickets left.

Vicar St. gig on December 6th cancelled

Sorry to say that Monday night’s gig in aid of Console has been cancelled. The weather and other factors mean that this just isn’t the right time for a gig like this. Ed’s very sorry if anyone has been inconvenienced as a result of the decision, and hopes to see some of you in 2011.

If you would like to support Console in another way, you can make a direct donation or attend one of their other fundraising events.
